Shopping for a car is the only fun part of the car-buying process. When it comes to negotiating a deal, most people cringe. The process can include hours of haggling and having many different prices thrown in your face. Joining a car-buying club might be a smart alternative to the traditional way of buying a vehicle.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Easy

Step1
Determine if you are already a member of an organization that provides a car-buying service. Many travel clubs such as AAA or Allstate provide either car-buying or car-research services to their members.
Step2
Go to the travel club's website or call their 800 phone number to join the organization if you are not already a member. Memberships range in price from $40 to $150 a year. AAA Auto Club's website is easy to maneuver, or you can call them at (800) 222-1134.
Step3
Check out your local wholesale chain store for car-buying information. Sam's Club, Costco and BJ's Wholesale Club offer car-buying clubs. Look up their websites for locations or look in your telephone directory to find a nearby store.
Step4
Join the wholesale club to become eligible to use their car-buying services. You can visit their in-store customer service counters for more information on this service or do your research on their websites. Memberships start around $25 a year.
Step5
Check with your human resources department at work to see if your company offers its employees special pricing on cars. Some companies have worked out deals with auto manufacturers and can offer their employees prearranged discounts.
