How to Use Candles in a Wedding Centerpiece

Candles make beautiful centerpieces to decorate the tables at your wedding reception. Instead of paying a decorator to make the centerpieces, you can save money by making them yourself. Use these ideas to create easy-to-make, affordable candle centerpieces.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Candles
  • Tea-light candles
  • Flowers
  • Candleholders
  • Ribbon and glitter
  1. Step 1

    Purchase inexpensive, loose flowers from your local grocery store or florists such as carnations. Cut off the stems of the flowers leaving only 1/2 inch. Float four flowers in a glass bowl along with three or four tea-light candles to create each centerpiece.

  2. Step 2

    Buy candleholders from the Shop for Bridal website.(See Resources below.) These candleholders are specially designed to be wedding centerpieces. Find "Spiral Candle Favor & Centerpiece" in the search box.

  3. Step 3

    Add a 6" white candle from your grocery or craft store to the candleholder and fill the top with water. Place one candleholder on the center of each table.

  4. Step 4

    Buy hurricane glasses and other candleholders from Save-on-crafts.com.(See Resources below.) On this website you can find a variety of different types of candles for discount prices. You can purchase them in sets of three, buy the dozen, or almost any quantity.

Tips & Warnings
  • Add ribbon and glitter to the centerpieces for a festive touch.
  • Mix and match borrowed candleholders from friends and family to use for your centerpieces.
