How to Get a Sam's Club Membership

Sam's Club is a wholesale club owned by the Wal-Mart corporation. Sam's Club members can buy grocery items, home and garden products, health and beauty items, jewelry, clothing and electronics in bulk and at wholesale prices. Sam's Clubs are located all over the United States and have more than 100 international locations in Brazil, Mexico, Puerto Rico, Canada and China. Sam's Club also offers online shopping.

Instructions

1. Choose a membership program. Sam's Club offers many membership programs each with varying annual fees. You can get a list and description of different membership types and services from Samsclub.com or at the customer service counter of a Sam's Club store.

2. Fill out a membership agreement. This can be done online at Samsclub.com. Click "Join the Club" or pick up a membership agreement at any Sam's Club location. Business memberships require a tax identification number. Memberships for a non-profit organization, like a church or a school, you need to be presented with a tax exempt card.

3. Pay for your membership. You can do this online or at a Sam's Club location.

4. Take your picture for your permanent ID card. When you purchase your card online or through a third party, like an employer, you receive a temporary ID card in the mail. Take the temporary ID to the closest Sam's Club and have your picture taken for your permanent card. If you purchase your membership at a Sam's Club location, they take your picture right after you complete your membership agreement.

• Your need to present your ID card every time you shop at a Sam's Club. Memberships can be used at all Sam's Club locations, including online and international stores.
• Sam's Club also has an auto, boat and RV program, which is free to Sam's Club members. This program gives members special savings on trucks, cars, RVs, boats and travel trailers.
