Things You'll Need:
- Hunter education card
- Hunting license
- HIP registration
- Permits
- Resident guide license
-
Step 1
Show proof of a Hunter Education card, if you were born after 1968. For hunters under the age of 16, direct supervision of an adult 21 years old or older with a valid hunting license is mandated. No Hunter Education card is required for those 16 years old and younger.
-
Step 2
Qualify as a resident of Arkansas to purchase a resident license. You must reside at an established address in Arkansas for a minimum of 60 days prior to seeking a license to hunt. Active-duty military living in Arkansas are considered residents. Licenses particular to Desha County require your residence to be in Desha County.
-
Step 3
Cooperate with the requirement for all hunters in Arkansas above the age of 16 to carry proof of HIP (Harvest Information Program) registration when hunting specific species of game. This includes game such as geese, ducks, snipe, doves and many more. HIP is free and available where you purchase your license to hunt.
-
Step 4
Purchase a Resident Sportsman's License for the privilege of hunting all game species. You can take advantage of hunts with muzzleloader, archery or modern gun. 4 tags each for deer and turkey are part of the Sportsman's License package price.
-
Step 5
Use the convenience of online purchasing to obtain the licenses, stamps and permits of your choice. Visit the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission Online License website to place your credit card order (see Resources below). You can track the progress of your transaction and know when to expect the arrival of your license.
