The nac-nac snowmobile trick is essentially the opposite of the popular can-can stunt. A nac-nac is done by taking a foot off the side and turning the snowmobile in mid-air. An impressive stunt, the nac-nac requires some practice, but it is fun to do and fun to watch.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Helmet and snowmobile-related attire
  • Snowmobile in good shape
  1. Step 1

Approach the ramp lip with sufficient speed in order to make the jump distance.

  2. Step 2

Take either the left or right foot off the side of the snowmobile. This should be done when in mid-air.

  3. Step 3

Put the lifted foot around the back of the snowmobile.

  4. Step 4

Push the snowmobile in a 90 degree turn. Pushing it too far will keep the rider from returning the foot before landing.

  5. Step 5

Bring the snowmobile back in line.

  6. Step 6

Place the lifted foot back on the side of the vehicle. Avoid jerky or abrupt movements when doing this step.

  7. Step 7

Land the snowmobile in a smooth and gentle maneuvering motion to complete an ideal landing.

Tips & Warnings
  • Watch video footage of top athletes performing the nac-nac and other stunts. EXPN has excellent footage of these maneuvers (see Resources below).
  • Many snowmobile riders in search of terrain on which to do aerial maneuvers look for areas that are relatively unmarked and have low traffic.
  • Properly maintain the snowmobile to minimize accidents and crashes during aerial stunts. Replace all worn parts and perform routine inspections before attempting jumps and tricks.
  • Consider installing handlebar risers on the snowmobile. Risers can aid in standing, provide a higher gravity center and generally allow more control of the vehicle in heavier snow.
  • One of the best ways to learn more about snowmobiling is to join an organization, such as the American Council of Snowmobile Associations (see Resources below).
  • Durable and flexible clothing and boots are important in maneuvering. Properly-fitted gear not only enhances movement, it also provides protection in the case of falls or crashes.
  • A safety helmet should always be worn when riding a snowmobile and performing stunts.
  • No extreme sport should be attempted without the proper training, physical fitness level or adequate practice. If you have a history of health problems, consult your doctor before attempting this stunt.
  • Many snowmobile accidents occur because of riders who lose their grip and control of the vehicle.
