Some people ride snowmobiles for transportation, while more adventurous types use these machines to do stunts and tricks. The superman stunt is a graceful move and can look effortless if the right techniques are used.

Difficulty: Challenging
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Adequate clothing and helmet
  • Snowmobile in good working order
  1. Step 1

Approach the top of the jump or ramp with sufficient speed. You need to be able to launch off the end of the ramp far enough to avoid hitting it during this stunt.

  2. Step 2

Slide your feet to the side as soon as the snowmobile leaves the lip of the ramp. Several attempts may be needed to get the timing down.

  3. Step 3

Straighten your arms by pushing the snowmobile in front. Using the momentum of the jump will help with this step.

  4. Step 4

Make sure the snowmobile is out in front of your body completely.

  5. Step 5

Straighten your legs and push them out and back.

  6. Step 6

Make sure your body is as parallel as possible to the ground. The look should be of a person flying through the air, or like the comic book character the jump is named for.

  7. Step 7

Pull your feet back to the snowmobile. This should be done in plenty of time before the snowmobile lands on the ground.

  8. Step 8

Make sure to come back to the ground level straight. Eye the landing while doing this to avoid a nasty spill.

Tips & Warnings
  • With practice and repeated attempts, a rider can extend the hangtime of a jump, as well as do longer superman jumps.
  • Doing a successful superman on a snowmobile may take experience on more remedial no-footer tricks.
  • Any movements on this or any other snowmobile trick should be gentle, not jerky. Jerky movements will likely cause wrecks.
  • The successful execution of this stunt requires well-maintained equipment. Routinely check the snowmobile, helmet and other accessories for wear and tear, which can lead to equipment breakdown.
  • Always wear a helmet before attempting any type of extreme sport.
  • This type of stunt requires appropriate training and physical fitness. Attempting this stunt without adequate preparation can lead to serious injury or death.
  • View online videos of snowmobile stunts with caution. Many of these videos culminate in crashes, and the rider in the video may not be executing the proper techniques.
