How to measure iPhone traffic to your website using Google Analytics

Apple's iPhone has revolutionized mobile web browsing. But Google Analytics -- a favorite web traffic, trends, and stats-monitoring tool -- doesn't yet offer an obvious way to measure your web site's iPhone traffic. Or does it? Here's a simple process to use Google Analytics to determine how many of your web site's visitors are using iPhones.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • a website with a Google Analytics account

Step1
Log into Google Analytics.
Step2
The Visitors section Click on "Visitors" in the left navigation well.
Step3
Browser Capabilities Click on "Browser Capabilities" to expand it.
Step4
Screen Resolutions Click on "Screen Resolutions" to select it.
Step5
Find... Select the "Find..." filter at the bottom, and type "396" into the search box. (396 is the height in pixels of the iPhone's web display.)
Step6
The results displayed show your site's traffic from iPhones!
