Take a stroll along the man-made canal that runs through Oklahoma City's historic district. Bricktown Canal has plenty of restaurant and unique shops to visit. It is always active, and features festivities throughout the year.

Pay homage to one of the saddest days in American history by visiting the Oklahoma City National Memorial. The memorial honors both victims and survivors of the tragic Oklahoma City bombing. Learn about the impact of violence and see mementos left by survivors and for the victims. A museum features interesting exhibits.

Step 3
Experience science firsthand by visiting the Omniplex Science Museum in Oklahoma City. There are over 300 hands-on exhibits for young children, as well as a planetarium, exhibits in aviation and space exploration and cultural exhibits.

Learn about American history at the National Cowboy and Western Heritage museum. The museum displays western art, photography, fire arms, the sport of rodeo and a tribute to Native Americans. A special area for children is the Children Cowboy Corral.

Go to Woolaroc Ranch Museum and Wildlife Preserve to learn even more about the American West. It is located in northeastern Oklahoma, where wildlife to see include buffalo, cattle and elk. There are plenty of Native American artifacts, antique firearms, and even living history areas. Take a stroll on some of the nature trails on the ranch.

See some of the breathtaking natural sights of the Wichita Mountains Wildlife Refuge. Go camping, hiking, rock climbing, fishing, observe wildlife or take a guided tour.
