2. Ask her what she wants, if you're still stumped. She will probably say, "Nothing," but if you're persistent, she might drop some clues.

3. Be creative and make something if you cannot afford an extravagant gift for your grandmother. A framed, professionally taken portrait of the two of you is a simple way to show her how important she is to you.

4. Buy your grandmother a nice card to go with her birthday gift. No matter what you get her, a card gives you the opportunity to let her know how much you really care.
