Stretch by sitting in a straddle with legs open as far as you can. Reach over to one side and lay your chest as close to your leg as possible. Hold the stretch for 20 seconds, and then repeat on the other side. Do this 5 times on each side.

Strengthen your leg muscles by lifting both legs while sitting in the straddle position. Lift and lower legs in 5 sets of 10 reps. Don't allow your legs to touch the floor as you lower.

Prepare to do the cheerleading jump by springing into the air. Start with legs straight. Then bend your knees and jump into the air.

Throw both legs up and out as you spring into the air. The ideal toe touch looks like a "V".

Snap your legs together after hitting your highest point. Land with your feet together and knees slightly bent. A clean landing is necessary to make a jump look good.

    Tips & Warnings

    • Point your toes in your jump.

    • Bring your legs up to your arms, but don't try to actually touch your toes. Your arms should stay in a "T" position.
