A laptop computer screen that you can't see is no good to you. You have to be able to see what you are working on, so keep your screen clean. The following are some options for keeping your laptop screen clean.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Step1
Spray the screen with an LCD cleaner for Flat Panel Monitors and Notebooks. These are found in a computer store and do not contain alcohol or ammonia which are found in most commercial glass cleaners. The products are advertised to cut through finger prints and other hard to clean residues. Follow the manufacturer's directions on the package for best results.
Step2
Wet a towel lightly with water and wipe the screen down. Be gentle so you don't damage the screen.
Step3
Clean the screen with a water-soap mixture. Wet a towel with water and add a small amount of soft liquid soap. Wipe down the screen. Use a second water-only towel to remove any left over soap residue.
Step4
Clean with hexane. Hexane is a chemical made from oil and when mixed with solvents is used in a variety of mediums. One use is for cleaning. It is colorless yet has a strong smell. Use with caution.
Step5
Clean the laptop screen with Petroleum Benzine. Petroleum Benzine is another colorless substance that is highly flammable. It has a potent smell, but is often used to clean laptop screens.
Step6
Ask the computer experts at your local computer center what to do if none of these steps are working. Places like Best Buy's Geek Squad can answer any further questions you may have to clean your laptop's screen.
