Give your guests no choice but to get up and do the "Hustle" by picking the perfect music for your '70s party. The song choices are endless and easy to obtain, so there are no excuses for not having the perfect '70s tunes. You dig?

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Make a list with the name of the songs and the artist if you can. With so many choices, it's a good idea to narrow them down to the quintessential '70s songs.

  2. Step 2

Search for songs on music subscriber websites such as Napster, itunes and Rhapsody. You can search for songs by year, artist and song title.

  3. Step 3

Buy a compilation CD. The Amazon website offers a selection of new and used '70s compilation CDs.

  4. Step 4

Check out a local used CD store. Used CDs cost about half of what you would pay for a new one.

  5. Step 5

Include the classic '70s songs that everybody knows. "Staying Alive," "Super Freak" and "The Hustle" are a few good choices. The sountrack for "Saturday Night Fever" by the Bee Gees is a must.

  6. Step 6

Rock out. The '70s wasn't all about disco. Add some rockin' tunes to the mix with "Rock and Roll All Night" by KISS or music from the groundbreaking punk band, The Ramones.

Tips & Warnings
  • Stick with popular songs from the '70s so everyone can groove to the music.
  • Hook your speakers up to your television. Most cable providers have music channels. Tune to the '70s music channel and leave it there.
  • Download legally. Napster, itunes and Rhapsody are legal and cheap.
