An '80s party can't work without the proper music. Cassette tapes, record player and vinyl records can only be found in specialty shops and collectible stores. To do things right, you must move into the future so you can transport your party guests back to the '80s.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • Blank CDs
  • Debit or Credit Card

Step1
Download from a music subscriber website. Check out Napster, itunes, Rhapsody and even Walmart and download the songs to your computer for less than $1 each. Burn them to a CD after downloading.
Step2
Get the '80s classics. You know, anything by Wham!, Bananarama, Duran Duran and Culture Club. Don't forget music from the Glam Rock bands such as Poison and Motley Crue.
Step3
Buy a compilation CD. It will have the term "80's" in the title. "Try Pure 80's" or "The Greatest Hits of the 80's."
Step4
Include "One Hit Wonder Bands." This is a must. Consider "Whip It" by Devo, "I Want Candy" by Bow Wow Wow and "Tainted Love" by Soft Cell. Go to the one hit wonder website for more possibilities.
Step5
Include power ballads. Just one or two will do. You know the ones: "I Want to Know What Love Is" by Foreigner and "The Search is Over" by Survivor. This is just the tip of the iceberg.

Tips & Warnings

  • Stick with popular songs. Not everyone will know "Blue Monday" by New Order or "Kiss Me, Kiss Me, Kiss Me" by the Cure.
  • Listen before you buy when downloading. Sometimes the sound quality isn't so great. This is a rare occurrence, but double check just to be sure.
