How to Make Candy Cane Christmas Tree Ornaments

Use the seasons most popular treat, the candy cane, to make ornaments for your Christmas tree. You can cover your entire tree in red and white striped cheer. The candy cane ornaments also can double as hanging treats for visitors during the holiday season.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Candy cane
  • Brown pipe cleaner
  • Wiggly eyes
  • Small red pom-pom

    Candy Cane Signs

  1. Step 1

    Use a stick candy or candy cane to make a "North Pole" sign. Cut a small rectangle out of green construction paper.

  2. Step 2

    Write "North Pole" on the paper in black marker. Glue the sign onto the candy cane pole.

  3. Step 3

    Glue a small loop of ribbon to the back side of the candy cane for hanging.

  4. Candy Cane Hearts

  5. Step 1

    Make a heart using two candy canes. Use hot glue to glue the ends of the candy canes together to form a heart shape.

  6. Step 2

    Use ribbon to make a bow to hang off your heart. Glue the bow to either the top or bottom of the candy cane heart.

  7. Step 3

    Form a small loop with ribbon, and glue to the back of the heart for hanging on the tree.

  8. Candy Cane Reindeer

  9. Step 1

    Create candy cane reindeer using a candy cane and brown pipe cleaners. Cut the pipe cleaner in half. Tightly wrap one half around the bend in the candy cane.

  10. Step 2

    Cut the second half of the pipe cleaner in half again. Use each half to add antlers to the pipe cleaner that is already attached to the candy cane.

  11. Step 3

    Glue wiggly eyes on the candy cane, glue a small red pom-pom on the reindeer to make Rudolph.
