How to Make Christmas Bird Tree Ornaments

Decorate your Christmas tree with birds this holiday season. Adding several different bird ornaments will bring your tree to life with color and the feel of the winter outdoors.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Glitter
  • Paint
  • Bird house
  • Artificial Bird
  • Glue

    Flying Paper Bird

  1. Step 1

    Draw the bird's head, wings and body on a piece of red construction paper. Don't forget to give the bird eyes and a beak.

  2. Step 2

    Cut the bird drawing out of the paper.

  3. Step 3

    Using glitter glue, outline the wing lines and edges of bird. Glue a small piece of red yarn to the head of the figure.

  4. Nesting Bird

  5. Step 1

    Purchase a small, artificial bird at a craft store.

  6. Step 2

    Make a nest with small twigs. Glue the twigs in a circle to form a nest with an indentation for the bird to sit in. Glue the bird to the nest.

  7. Step 3

    Add a small loop of yarn to the back of the nest. Glue it on to use for hanging on your tree.

  8. Winter Wonderland Bird

  9. Step 1

    Buy an artificial cardinal at a craft store. Buy a nest or make it out of twigs.

  10. Step 2

    Glue the twigs in a circle to form a nest with an indentation for the bird to sit in. Glue the bird to the nest.

  11. Step 3

    Use a can of spray-on snow to decorate the edges of the nest. Make your bird look like he is sitting in a fresh layer of snow.

  12. Bird with House

  13. Step 1

    Use an artificial bird and pre-made wooden bird house to make a cute tree ornament.

  14. Step 2

    Make sure the house and bird are small enough to hang on the tree. Glue the bird to the perch or the top of the house.

  15. Step 3

    Decorate the house with paint, glue and glitter or fake snow. Add any words or decorations to personalize it for your tree.

  16. Step 4

    Glue a small loop of yarn to the back of the house for hanging on the Christmas tree.
