Madame Alexander is one of the premier collectible doll manufactures, designing beautiful quality dolls. Over the last eighty years, the Madame Alexander Doll Company has produced dolls based on movies, books, historical figures, nursery rhymes, special events and created baby dolls. If you're interested in starting a collection, you probably want to know where to find these dolls.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Go the official Madame Alexander website to buy a few different, hard to find dolls. These collections are called the "Best of Madame Alexander" and "In the Holiday Spirit." You can also find a listing of the stores that sell Madame Alexander dolls on the website, and pictures from the Madame Alexander catalogs.

  2. Step 2

Contact your city to find out if a doll show is coming to your area. This is a great place to talk to other collectors, see Madame Alexander collections and buy new and older Madame Alexander dolls.

  3. Step 3

Click onto eBay. At a given time, eBay will have thousands of listings for Madame Alexander dolls at great prices. You can find brand new dolls from the latest collection, and antique dolls from estate sales on eBay.

  4. Step 4

Find antique and collectible stores around your house. These stores often sell Madame Alexander dolls. However, you will probably only find one or two dolls at these stores, usually from estate sales, and they may not be in great shape.

  5. Step 5

Check out your local, non-chain toy stores that sell collectibles. Many toy stores sell Madame Alexander dolls. This is a great place to see new collections in person. Do not expect to get older dolls from toy stores and expect to pay full retail.

  6. Step 6

Read your newspaper to find yard and estate sales in your area. Yard and estate sales are a place to get Madame Alexander dolls for great prices. However, in many cases these dolls need a great deal of care and you may need to send them to the Madame Alexander doll hospital.

Tips & Warnings
  • Before buying a Madame Alexander doll, inspect it carefully to make sure it comes with its box, hang tag, shoes, the hair is not mussed and that the eyes open and close.
