How to Make Goulash

Goulash is a dish made with meat, vegetables and macaroni mixed. It will take you about an hour to prepare and cook this meal, so it's perfect for busy families. It's also one way to get children to eat vegetables. Here's the recipe. Does this Spark an idea?

Things You'll Need

  • 2 heads red cabbage
  • 1 lb. hamburger meat
  • 1 onion
  • 1 can mixed vegetables
  • 1 can whole kernel corn
  • 2 bay leaves
  • 2 beef bouillon cubes
  • 1/2 lb. elbow macaroni
  • 2 cups shredded cheese
  • 1 can sliced black olives
  • Salt
  • Water
  • Sauce pan
  • Skillet

Instructions

      Remove the middle of the cabbage. Hold cabbage under warm water to loosen the leaves. Pull off 6 large leaves.

      Boil water with salt.

      Place cabbage in the salt water and cook for 3 minutes.

      Boil 2 cups of water in another pot.

      Place macaroni in the boiling water for 7 to 10 minutes.

      Chop the onion.

      Brown the hamburger and onion in a large skillet.

      Drain the grease.

      Add the bay leaves to the meat and onions. Mix in the bouillon cubes, vegetables, cabbage, corn and macaroni.

      Cook in the skillet on medium high heat for 10 to 15 minutes. All of the ingredients must be mixed well.

      Sprinkle cheese and olives on the top of the dish.

      Remove from the heat and serve.
