How to Make a California Hot Dog

Today's hot dog's have more toppings than hamburgers. One way to kick start your taste buds is to make a California Hot Dog. Here's the recipe. Does this Spark an idea?

  • Hot dog
  • Hot dog bun
  • 1/4 avocado
  • 1 tbsp. onion
  • 2 slices tomato
  • 3 slices cucumber
  • 1 tbsp. parsley

      Cook your hot dog. Using a knife, cut some small slices across the length of your hot dog and place it over a medium flame until the hot dog browns. You also can cook it in the microwave for 1 minute, or you can fry it for about 4 minutes over a medium flame.

      Toast your bun. Either put the bun in the toaster oven or spray a pan with non-stick spray and place the bun face down. Your bun will be ready in minutes.

      Chop all of your toppings together. Remove the skin from the avocado and chop that along with the onion, parsley, cucumber and tomato. A California hot dog is all about freshness. Mix the ingredients.

      Place your hot dog in the bun, and then top your dog with the mix.
