Step 1
Send out direct mail advertisements to butterfly houses. Most butterfly houses will purchase their butterflies from a butterfly farm. You can mail your notices to butterfly houses across the globe, as many desire to expand their species.
-
Step 2
Join an association. Founded in 1998, the International Butterfly Breeders Association is the oldest association for professional butterfly trading organizations. Not only can you find new contacts through an association, you can also use your membership in the group as a way to promote your butterfly farm.
-
Step 3
Visit a school to market the educational value of the butterfly farm. Many schools welcome the opportunity to have guest speakers. Teach the children how they can have their own butterfly garden. Promote your butterfly farm to the parents via a hand out that the children can take home.
-
Step 4
Plan scheduled public tours of your butterfly farm. You can network with other area attractions to cross-promote the businesses. If possible, sell merchandise featuring your logo.
-
Step 5
Release butterflies for special events. One way to promote your business is to integrate butterflies into special events. Donate butterflies to be released at a high profile wedding. Or release butterflies at an outdoor festival. If you normally release butterflies from your farm on a set date, invite the public to attend.
-
Step 6
Notify the press. Send out press release statements to international media about events that you have scheduled for your butterfly farm. Include information on how your farm helps conserve the environment.
