How to Make a Rainbow Salad

Rainbow salad is a refreshing, chilled salad perfect for a hot summer day. This recipe if fun and easy make. Children love to help make and eat this salad it. The salad takes little preparation and keeps in the refrigerator for up to six days.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 1 package lime gelatin
  • 2 cups hot water
  • 1 16-ounce can crushed pineapple
  • 1 package orange gelatin
  • 2 cups cold water
  • 1 large package cream cheese
  • 1 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 cup chopped nuts
  • 1 cup celery chopped fine
  • 1 small package whipped topping
  1. Step 1

    Dissolve the lime gelatin in 1 cup of hot water.

  2. Step 2

    Stir in 1 cup of cold water.

  3. Step 3

    Drain the pineapple and mix it with the gelatin.

  4. Step 4

    Pour the mix into a bowl and place it in the refrigerator until congealed.

  5. Step 5

    Mix 1 cup of hot water and the orange gelatin.

  6. Step 6

    Add 1 cup of cold water.

  7. Step 7

    Blend in the rest of the pineapple.

  8. Step 8

    Pour it in a bowl and chill until slightly congealed.

  9. Step 9

    Combine the cream cheese and mayonnaise and stir until smooth.

  10. Step 10

    Blend the nuts and celery into the cream cheese mixture.

  11. Step 11

    Spread the mix over the lime gelatin.

  12. Step 12

    Pour the orange gelatin over the top.

  13. Step 13

    Place the rainbow salad in the refrigerator and chill overnight.

  14. Step 14

    Remove the salad from the refrigerator and spoon into bowls or small cups

  15. Step 15

    Spoon whipped topping on the top and serve.
