How to Make Hot Sausage Dip

Dip some chips, vegetables or your spoon into this hot sausage dip. The spicy snack is a Tex-Mex specialty. The recipe is designed as a chip dip for parties, but is equally as tasty when eaten for late night snack. Although it has a lot of ingredients, the preparation is easy and fast.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 1 onion
  • 1 tomato
  • 1 bell pepper
  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • 1 lb. hot sausage
  • Crock-Pot
  • 1 6-ounce can chopped green chillies
  • 1 package processed cheese
  • 1 6-ounces can sliced black olives
  • 1 can cream of mushroom soup
  1. Step 1

    Chop the onions, tomato and bell pepper into small cubes.

  2. Step 2

    Brown the sausage and hamburger meat by sautéing them in a pan over medium heat.

  3. Step 3

    Add the chopped onions and bell pepper to the browned meat.

  4. Step 4

    Cook on high for 5 minutes while stirring.

  5. Step 5

    Turn the crockpot on high.

  6. Step 6

    Drain the green chillies.

  7. Step 7

    Cube the processed cheese.

  8. Step 8

    Place all of the ingredients in the crockpot.

  9. Step 9

    Cook until the cheese is melted and creamy.

  10. Step 10

    Stir the dip periodically. If the dip is not stirred well, it sticks to the pot.

Tips & Warnings
  • Serve in a bowl or directly out of the crockpot to keep the sausage dip hot. If you serve it out of the crockpot, turn the heat to low after the cheese melts. Serve with tortilla chips.
  • Add sour cream after cooking to make the dip less spicy.
