1. Redefine cheap and prepare to spend just a little more for a wig that looks more natural. Fifty dollars is still pretty cheap compared to thousands that you could spend. And a $50 wig will look a whole lot better than a $20 wig.

2. Choose a wig that is comfortable and suits your face. Just as a good haircut can make you feel more confident and stylish, so the right cut on a hairpiece will be easier to wear. Also, wear a wig that most matches your own hair color if you really want a natural look.

3. Take care of your wig with high quality products. Store it on a mannequin-style head and comb it out regularly.

4. Tie up loose ends of your own hair. You can also use a scarf or headband on the wig to divert attention from the hairpiece.

5. Wear a stocking or wig cap under your wig to help hold it in place. If it slides around when you put it on, remove it and adjust it to be tighter.
