Dating an older woman can be a great adventure. She is secure in her character, her career and her sexuality. Perhaps she has gone beyond the stereotype of wife and mother; perhaps she has already played those roles and is ready to reclaim her own identity. For whatever reason, there is an older woman interested in you and you will need work to keep her.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderate

Step1
Treat your older woman well. She is not going to look to you for validation or a self-esteem boast, but she will drop you if you become critical of her or too self- absorbed. Call her when you say you will, apologize for mistakes and remember your manners.
Step2
Keep in mind why she is dating a younger man, she is probably looking for a good time. Do fun adventurous things together.
Step3
Start new hobbies or activities together. This will create common ground for discussion and outings.
Step4
Talk to her about life and her experiences and listen to what she has to say. The older woman you are dating has probably had a lot of different experiences than you have and this can be a great way to get some good advice.
Step5
Ignore rude comments from friends, family members and possibly even strangers. This is your relationship and although others may be concerned for you, you can reassure them that you are capable of making your own choices.
Step6
Focus on the woman and the relationship and less on the numbers. No woman wants to be reminded too often of her age and it doesn't really matter anyway.

Tips & Warnings

  • Dating an older woman is not a way of being taken care of longer. She is not your mother, nor is it her job to do your chores or take care of you.
