How to Make an Ex Jealous

People deal with break-ups in different ways. If you choose to make your ex jealous after the break-up, you need to be clear-headed and rational. Don't let your emotions interfere with your plan. You can use this technique to win someone back or to drive your ex crazy.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

The Set-Up

Step1
Cease all contact. No phone calls, emails, text messages, IM's or visits to her work. You need time and distance so your ex has time to process and move past any bitter feelings.
Step2
Wait a few weeks then invite your ex for lunch or to have a drink. This is not a date, just a discussion. Tell him you just want to catch up.
Step3
Bring something small but sentimental. Don't choose anything that conjures explicitly romantic memories, but a token of your fun times and friendship. You want to be subtle and not let your ex know you are trying to make her miss you.
Step4
Enjoy yourself. Make sure your ex has a great time. Don't dwell on emotional issues about the break-up. You will make him jealous if you seem to be stable and content in your life.
Step5
Leave the meeting upbeat and without commitments or promises. Don't offer to get together again and if she asks to, be non-committal, but polite. Use "maybe" not "sure."

The Follow-Up

Step1
Be seen. Don't make it obvious, but allow yourself to be seen with another woman, perhaps on a date, or a chance meeting. If your ex is watching, you can approach someone for the first time with surprising confidence to ask him out. Seeing you on the prowl will make your ex completely jealous.
Step2
Spend time with an acquaintance of your ex--not a best friend or immediate family member. Avoid people that are very close to your ex. You want a person who your ex will have to interact with occasionally, but will not feel betrayed by. You won't make your ex jealous if you make her feel betrayed. A neutral co-worker or cousin (assuming they aren't as close as sisters) may do just fine.
Step3
Play the field. Don't get into a relationship right away and don't pretend you are. Just spend time with different guys, dating and having fun. It will drive your ex crazy thinking you consider yourself "free" now that you're broken up.
Step4
Laugh until it hurts. Anytime your ex is in your vicinity, show how happy you are. Exude confidence like never before. Resist the temptation to act ****ty or easy. You just want to be flirty and confident. Too much attention paid to the opposite sex will give you away.
Step5
Accomplish something. Focus some positive energy on work, getting buff, or getting your first short story published. Once you succeed in other areas of your life, especially areas that your ex knows mean a lot to you, then she'll be jealous she's not there to share it with you.

Tips & Warnings

  • Never resort to one-night stands or quick rebound hook-ups in order to make your ex jealous. This could cause long term damage to you (think STDs) and will make you look undesirable to your ex.
