Many people confuse this yo-yo trick with "walk the dog" but the "walk the plank" maneuver is nothing like it. Practice, time and concentration can help you catch on to this yo-yo trick. When done correctly, "walk the plank" will impress any audience.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderate

Things You’ll Need:

  • Yo-yo

Step1
Place loop of the yo-yo string on the third finger of your dominant hand.
Step2
Hold the yo-yo on the sides between the thumb and pointer finger of the same hand.
Step3
Grab the string with your other hand and stretch it all the way out. Raise the string higher than the yo-yo you are holding in your dominant hand. The string should come out from the yo-yo at the top, not the bottom.
Step4
Place the yo-yo onto the string close to the dominant hand until it rests on the string on its axis.
Step5
Release the yo-yo from your thumb and pointer finger.
Step6
Slowly lift the dominant hand and lower the other hand so the yo-yo rolls down toward and away from the dominant hand. Make sure the yo-yo is rolling slowly so the string is actually winding up on the yo-yo and the yo-yo isn't just rolling along it.
Step7
When the yo-yo reaches the end of the string, pick it up with the thumb and pointer of the non-dominant hand and let the yo-yo drop. Pull the yo-yo back up with your dominant hand until you get it going up and down again.
