Your yard is an extension of your home and of you. You have not done all you can to boost your sex appeal if you have overlooked your yard. Imagine driving up to your curb with someone who has never seen your property before. If they are confronted with scraggly weeds resolve to boost your yard's sex appeal.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Compost
  • Tropical plants
  • Shiny garden object
  1. Step 1

Clear out the weeds. Weeds give the impression that you don't care, which is not sexy. Hand dig after each heavy rain and watch weed roots relinquish their stronghold.

  2. Step 2

Increase the fertility of your soil. Infertile soil leads to anemic looking plants. A truckload of compost works nicely. Spread a 3 inch layer across all garden areas and earthworms can take care of the rest.

  3. Step 3

Add a small grove of tropical plants. In the summer, elephant ears, tropical hibiscus or mandevilla look lush. Make several sultry cannas the focal point of your front yard, and passersby may stop and gawk.

  4. Step 4

Plant your annuals and perennials in clusters of 5 or more. Unless you are installing a large shrub, single specimens look stark. Planting a line along your foundation gives the soldiers-in-a-row effect, which looks like grandma's garden: not sexy.

  5. Step 5

Dress up your entry garden with a gazing globe or other shiny garden object. Think of this as jewelry for your garden. As with jewelry you would wear, limit the ornamentation to 1 or 2 outstanding pieces.

  6. Step 6

Elicit good feelings with heady fragrance. The sexy aroma of one gardenia or a few hyacinths stir the senses and make us feel alive to the world.
