How to Use Blockbuster to Rent Movies
Blockbuster video has been a great place to rent movies for many years. After adding an online feature to be stronger than their competition, they have become your one stop shop for movie rentals. Blockbuster offers 2 main ways for you to rent movies: online and in the store.
Instructions
-
In the Store
-
1
Go to your local blockbuster and sign up for a membership, which is free and activated immediately. You may need to wait a few weeks to receive your official membership card.
-
2
Select the movie you wish to rent. The stores are usually setup with the newest releases along the perimeter and older titles in the inner aisles.
-
-
3
Get in line to check out. Have your blockbuster card ready to hand to the cashier before handing them the movie.
-
4
Meet the cashier at the door with your movie and be sure to listen for them to tell you the due date.
-
5
Return the movie to the same store you rented it from by the due date. Returning it to the wrong store could result in late fees or even being charged for the movie.
Online Renting

Tips & Warnings
If you cannot find a local blockbuster, visit their website listed in the resources and click on "store locator."
Total access plans will allow you to return the DVDs you get in the mail to your local blockbuster for another movie to watch for free while you wait for the next one to come in the mail.
There are no late fees or other fees for the online service. You can keep the movies as long as you want.
Spend time rating movies on the website that you have seen by clicking on whatever number of stars you think it is worth. The more you rate the better Blockbuster will be at suggesting titles for you to watch.
The "No Late Fees" saying for their stores is very misleading. Keeping movies more than 7 days past their due date results in a "restocking fee."
If you keep a movie from the store over 30 days past its due date you will be charged for the movie!
Be sure if you return your mailer to the store and get a movie that you update your queue. The stores and online service are not connected and you could end up receiving in the mail the same movie you checked out from the store.
