How to Download Using Limewire

Limewire is a free peer-to-peer sharing program that allows you to share files and programs without dealing with spyware or adware. The programs and files shared do not infringe on copyrights or licenses. Limewire is available in many languages and the basic version is free to download at Limewire.com. Limewire is user-friendly and, with some instruction, you can be downloading in no time.

Instructions
  1. Step 1

    Download the software from Limewire. Go to Limewire.com and click on "Download." Limewire is compatible with all operating systems. Pick either the basic version or the professional version, depending on your needs.

  2. Step 2

    Run the installation. Depending on your processor this may take a few minutes.

  3. Step 3

    Sign up with Limewire. Once the installation is finished, run the program by double clicking the Limewire icon. A screen pops up and asks you to sign in or sign up. Feel safe signing up because Limewire does not send Spam emails.

  4. Step 4

    Search for the file you need. You can search through all available files available or by a specific type of file.

  5. Step 5

    Pick a file to download. Limewire lets you know the quality of the file, name, type of file and the speed of the download.

  6. Step 6

    Click on the file to download. Then click "Download." If the file stops downloading, click "Find more sources" or "Resume." If you are downloading a video or sound file, you can preview the media while it is loading.

Tips & Warnings
  • Limewire is a good resource, but because it is peer-to-peer, the download time may be slower than downloading directly from the Internet.
  • Limewire only allows you to download if you are not going to infringe on copyrights.
