Christmas mix CDs are prevalent during the Christmas season in almost every music genre. However, it is just as easy to create a Christmas CD of your own personal Christmas favorites across genres. Here are steps to help turn your mix CD into a CD tradition to share each year.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Selected Christmas music
  • CD burning software
  • CD-R
  • Laser printer
  • CD case
  1. Step 1

Select Christmas songs and a theme for the Christmas CD. A possible theme is to include Christmas songs with the word joy or snow in the title. Find songs on Christmas CDs or online at music websites. Check the length of the selected songs to ensure it does not exceed the length of the CD.

  2. Step 2

Choose a title for the CD that reflects the theme or ongoing tradition. For example, "Joyous Christmas volume I." or "Snowy Christmas 2000" represent titles that you can update from year to year.

  3. Step 3

Rip songs from the Christmas CDs or download songs from music websites. Burn selected songs onto a CD-R to prevent accidental destruction or tampering with the CD. Use a CD burning software to transfer songs in WMA, MP3 and WAV file formats onto the CD.

  4. Step 4

Create a 2-sided CD cover with an original design that fits the theme such as snowflakes for a snow themed CD. Use Christmas clipart, stock photos or personal digital photos as cover design. List the song titles and artists. Print the cover on a laser printer for longevity.

  5. Step 5

Place the CD and CD cover into a CD case. Secure the cover with tape, if necessary. Distribute the Christmas CD to family, friends and coworkers as stocking stuffers or inexpensive gifts.

  6. Step 6

Repeat the following year only altering the song selection and cover design to fit the CD theme. Be sure to indicate the year on the cover for those who enjoy the Christmas CD tradition and want to keep the CDs in order.

Tips & Warnings
