Blogging is a new way to communicate as well as a new form of journalism. Every day new people create new blogs while just as many let their blogs fall to the side. If you think you'd like to try your hand at being a blogger and you're not sure where to begin just keep reading to see if you have what it takes.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Decide what you want your blog to be about. Online diaries are a popular choice but those with specific, focused topics generally gain more traffic.

  2. Step 2

Create a blog with one of the free blogging sites. Blogger and Wordpress are two of the most popular options.

  3. Step 3

Set aside a time each day to blog. Blogging can be all consuming and if you want to keep your blog up to date and draw steady visitors you will need to blog everyday.

  4. Step 4

Write three to five posts a day so there will always be something new for those who visit your blog to read. The more you post, the quicker your blog will be picked up and ranked by the search engines.

  5. Step 5

Establish a comments policy and regularly monitor and respond to comments you may get on your blog. People like to have dialog with the writer of the blog and it's good to thank people now and then for their participation on your blog.
