Physiology, the study of how the human body works, is an important subject for any med student or nursing student to master. Physiology can be a difficult class because the human body is an incredibly complex machine. With intelligence and determination, it is possible to survive this class.

Step1
Find some friends and form a study group. You will have major exams to pass in your physiology class and these friends will help you persevere. Meeting and working together regularly will help you survive this difficult class.
Step2
Remember the big picture. All these parts and systems belong to an incredible whole. Put the pieces together like a jigsaw puzzle to increase your understanding.
Step3
Create anagrams and acrostics to help remember names and systems.
Step4
Sing. when you find something particularly difficult to remember, put it to music--even Twinkle Twinkle Little Star. Then quietly sing your song when you need to remember.
Step5
Consider buying the Board Review Series book on Physiology. It can help you survive your physiology class.
Step6
Read your textbook. To survive your physiology class, you must do your assigned reading before the class when they will be discussed.
Step7
Play online. There are some excellent online physiology tutorials available. Use your computer to access some of these.

Tips & Warnings

  • Study every day. Even a few minutes of review every day will help you avoid panic when exam time rolls around.
  • Never, ever miss a class. If you're desperately ill and can't possible be there, get the notes before the next class session.
