Straw-like hair doesn't feel very nice, but it's a problem you can solve. The right hair care routine will restore the moisture to your dry, lifeless hair and give you the silky and shiny head of hair you've always dreamed of.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • Humectant-based shampoo
  • Moisturizing conditioner
  • Jojoba oil

Step1
Wash your hair every other day with a humectant-based shampoo. Humectants attract moisture to the hair shaft and lock it in.
Step2
Follow with a conditioner designed specifically for dry hair. Leave it on for several minutes. This will smooth the cuticle and lock in moisture.
Step3
Rinse with cold water. This will further close the cuticle and make your hair shiny and smooth.
Step4
Apply jojoba oil to the driest parts of your hair. This will replace the missing sebum (natural scalp oil.)

Tips & Warnings

  • If you plan to be in direct sunlight for an extended period of time, use a leave-in conditioner with a sunscreen for further protection.
  • Drink a lot of water and eat plenty of fruits and vegetables. This will improve your general health and increase the amount of moisture in your hair. Changing your hair care routine will soon improve the condition of your dry hair.
  • Avoid chemical hair treatments such as perms and coloring, as these will dry the hair further.
