VEDA stands for Vestibular Disorders Association, an organization aimed at helping patients who have vestibular disorders (which affect the inner ear) and the professionals who care for them. VEDA provides educational materials, links to support groups and publications about vestibular disorders, as well as financial support for vestibular research. Becoming a member of this organization is easy and worthwhile if you are a long-time sufferer, new patient or medical provider.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Know the benefits of membership. Every VEDA member receives discounts on VEDA products such as publications and educational materials. Also, you'll receive the monthly newsletter "On the Level." First-time members also get an information packet introducing them to VEDA.

  2. Step 2

Visit the VEDA website. Once there, click on "Publications and Membership." Determine which membership option is best for you, individual or professional. Individual membership costs $30 and Professional costs $100. Be aware that if you're an individual outside of the United States, your membership will cost an extra $10.

  3. Step 3

Choose individual membership if you're living with a vestibular disorder or if you're the family member or friend of a vestibular disorder patient. You can choose to receive links to other vestibular disorder sufferers. These links are not in association with VEDA, but rather a resource for VEDA members.

  4. Step 4

Select professional membership if you treat vestibular disorders. Doctors in the field can add their information to the VEDA resource list and receive discounts on educational bundles to distribute to their patients. The resource list is requested approximately 13,000 times a month by VEDA members.

  5. Step 5

Renew your membership the following year. You simply visit the VEDA website again to renew. A yearly renewal will save you $5 off the cost of your original membership fee. Membership renewals are also available in 3-year increments for a bigger savings.
