The Ziggy cartoon strip has been around for more than 35 years. He was created by Tom Wilson in 1971 as a greeting card character. His son, Tom Wilson II, took over writing the comic strip in 1987. He still writes it today, making Ziggy one of the longest run comic strips ever. There are several things you can do if you wish to become a Ziggy fan.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • Computer
  • Internet access
  • Pen and paper
  • Shaving cream
  • A razor

Step1
Have fun on Ziggy's website, where you can play games, get Ziggy wallpaper for your computer screen and even get Ziggy cartoon pictures on your cell phone. While you're there, sign up to have Ziggy comic strips sent to your email address.
Step2
Purchase Ziggy books. Tom Wilson has several cartoon strip books about Ziggy that you can buy. Check with your local bookstore or do a search online.
Step3
Join Ziggy's unofficial fan club, where you can buy and trade Ziggy merchandise from other members or just chat about the Ziggy cartoon.
Step4
Write to Tom Wilson II: Ziggy and Friends, Inc. P.O. Box 81175 Cleveland, TN 44181 and tell him how much you love Ziggy.
Step5
Be like Ziggy. It will be easier if your short and chubby, but even if you're not, all you need is some shaving cream and a razor to create Ziggy's hairstyle. Make sure you have no job, friends or significant other and get a lot of different pets to tell cheesy one-liners to.
Step6
Have a "hang in there" philosophy of life like Ziggy does. As Tom Wilson would say, "You can complain because roses have thorns, or you can rejoice because thorns have roses."
