Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Step1
Apply for a permit to get married at Yosemite National Park. The application needs to be filled out at least 21 days before the wedding, and may be filed up to a year in advance. The application can be found on the park's website. A specific site will need to be chosen and indicated on the application.
Step2
Choose a location to get married. The park is full of beautiful scenery and accessible locations. There are locations available in Yosemite Valley, Wawona, Tuolumne Meadows and Big Oak Flat. There is also a chapel available at the park. There is a complete list of locations on the park's website. Some sites have limitations on the amount of people that can be there.
Step3
Find an officiate for the service. There are several ordained ministers that specialize in officiating marriage ceremonies at Yosemite. Some are non-denominational and will help with the planning also.
Step4
Get a California state marriage license. This is done at any California county clerk's office. The license is good for 90 days. Both partners must be present with valid photo identification, such as a passport or driver's license. The fees vary according to the county, and must be paid in cash or with a money order if from out of state.
