Instructions
  1. Step 1

Create a list of all jobs that need to be completed. A list will help you see how much needs to be done.

  2. Step 2

Group the jobs by the required date of completion. Start with jobs that need to be done first and finish with jobs that don't have to be done right away.

  3. Step 3

Assess the skills of the people who are helping with the project. Understanding everyone's skill sets is important in delegating effectively.

  4. Step 4

Assign tasks based on skills and interests. Giving people jobs that they enjoy produces better results.

  5. Step 5

Be clear on what you want done. Communicate both verbally and in writing the tasks to be completed. Give specifics if necessary. When applicable, allow the person some freedom in how they complete the tasks.

  6. Step 6

Congratulate a job well done. This encouragement is important for motivation in future projects. Likewise, offer critiques when necessary but in private.
