Raising children can be a challenge physically, emotionally and mentally. Staying positive in this capacity is frustrating but not impossible. A positive mom can exert great influence and make a huge difference her children's lives. Here are some ideas that can help moms stay positive.

Instructions

Difficulty: Challenging
Step1
Decide to be positive when getting out of bed each morning. While getting frustrated sometime through the day is inevitable, remember that negative experiences do not mean that you have failed. The key to being a positive mom is to keep trying and believing in yourself.
Step2
Look for the positive in your children and be specific when praising them. Give encouragement and avoid picking on their mistakes. If you are displeased with something they did, correct them and move on. Do not nag on the issue.
Step3
Help your children discover their potentials. Express your confidence in them and help them to reach their goals.
Step4
Smile often. It makes you feel good about yourself, and it makes your children feel more comfortable and happy.
Step5
Be patient and kind with your children.
Step6
Take things easy. When choosing between working on the relationship with your children versus household chores, work on the relationship first. The chores will still be there when your children are grown up and have left the home.
Step7
Be a good example of being positive and optimistic. Your attitude will set the tone for your children as well.
Step8
Try not to grumble and complain, especially in front of the children. The more you do it, the worse it gets because it creates a negative atmosphere. Be determined to have a good attitude about things.
Step9
Put quotes of encouragement all around the house to remind you to be positive. Decorate your home with flowers and brightly colored pictures.
Step10
Do one or more fun activities with your children every day.
Step11
Take time for yourself. Get a babysitter and go out with your friends, go shopping or get a manicure. When you get a break and are happy, chances are you will be more positive.
Step12
Learn to forgive and forget.
Step13
Strive to make your home a happy place. Your children will appreciate your positive attitude.
