Boston College is ranked 34th among national universities by "U.S. News and World Report" and is a popular choice of top universities for future university students. Before making the choice to move to "Bean Town" for higher education, it is a good idea to visit Boston College. Here are some steps for taking a visit to Boston College. Read on to learn more.

Instructions

    • 1

Decide what kind of visit you would like to make. There are a few different options at Boston College. You can take a campus tour, which is a 75-minute tour of the school led by students and volunteers. You can also participate in an hour-long eagle eye session that consists of a panel of undergraduates who will talk about academics and student life on campus. The most involved option is a day visit in which you will spend a full class day with an actual student.

    • 2

Check the Boston College website to find available dates for visitation. Campus tours and eagle eye sessions occur on many dates through the academic year and summer. Day visits are available during the spring semester on specific dates and you need to schedule day visits a week in advance. Day visits during April are reserved for admitted students.

    • 3

Schedule day visits by calling the Day Visit Coordinator at (617) 552-3178.

    • 4

Arrive to your session and tours early and stick around to ask questions if you want. During April when high school vacations are in full swing, there may be more than a thousand prospective students and family members on any one day so be sure you show up in time to take care of any questions or concerns you may have.

    • 5

Make travel plans to get to Boston College from where you are staying. There is not much parking around Boston College so the recommended way to get to the school is by public transportation known as the "T" in Boston. The Green Line on the "T" offers transportation to the college for an affordable price.

Contact the Office of Undergraduate Admission for more information on visitations. This is also the place to call to arrange accommodations for visitors with disabilities. The phone number is (800) 360-2522.
