1. Locate a Democratic mayoral or city council candidate that you are comfortable with before you donate money. 2. Distribute your money to state legislative candidates around election time. The state legislature influences roadways, schools and other areas of daily life that directly affect your family. 3. Involve yourself in the growth of your state's Democratic Party with a donation. Political donors who give money to state Democratic organizations in order to help Democratic candidates in the region improve their chances at election time. 4. Sustain the national party by donating to the Democratic National Committee.
