Learn How to Send Hanukkah ECards

  1. Step 1

Visit the American Greetings website to browse their assortment of Hanukkah ecards (see Resources below).

  2. Step 2

Sign in to your existing member account by clicking on the "Sign In" button, or create an account by clicking on the "Join Now" button. If you do not have an account, or don't wish to create one, then you may use the free Hanukkah ecards displayed instead.

  3. Step 3

Direct your mouse pointer over any of the Hanukkah ecards available. This will launch a small window that allows you to view the contents of the ecard, permitting you to fully browse the available ecards without making a selection.

  4. Step 4

Decide on the perfect Hanukkah ecard to send to your friends and family. To do so, simply click on it to open a new page with a full view of the ecard you chose. Note that many ecards include music, so make sure that you have your speaker volume turned up, if you have any.

  5. Step 5

Click the "Personalize and Send" button if you are satisfied with the Hanukkah ecard chosen. This will open the next page in the process, where you will enter the email addresses of the people you wish to send Hanukkah ecards to. You may also enter a personal greeting and message.

  6. Step 6

Note that you may select different fonts and colors for your personal message, attach a photo, or run a spell check. You may also view a list of suggested messages, if the right one eludes you. In addition, you may specify when you would like to send your Hanukkah ecards--either right away or on a future date.

Tips & Warnings
  • Hanukkah (which means "to dedicate") commemorates the rededication of the Temple in Jerusalem after being nearly destroyed during the Seleucid Empire. According to legend, there was only enough holy oil to ignite the eternal flame of the Temple for one day. Yet, miraculously, the oil lasted until additional consecrated oil could be processed, a full 8 days.
  • Also known as the Festival of Lights, the holiday is celebrated by lighting the 8 candles of the Hanukkah menorah, one candle for each night for 8 consecutive nights.
