Whether you're looking for Kwanzaa graphics to make your own invitation cards, to decorate your personal website or to enhance the look of your computer screen, the Internet can be an incredible resource. Gone are the days when you need to spend lots of money to find suitable art for your crafts. Now it's possible to download everything you need from your computer.

Download Graphics Safely

Step1
Decide what kind of graphics you're looking for. If you have a personal or family website, look for large images, animations or age-appropriate designs. If you need graphics to print on greeting cards, door hangers or menus, then you will need smaller designs that fit the theme of your project.
Step2
Look for websites that don't have a lot of pop-up windows to speed up your download process. Some browsers, such as Safari, allow you to block pop-ups in the "preferences" menu.
Step3
Check any zip file you download for viruses before opening. Many websites offer graphics in a zip file, since this is a great way to download quicker and save bandwidth. Always double check to make sure the file doesn't contain anything that can damage your computer before opening.
Step4
Check Microsoft's official website for a variety of images that you can download and use in all types of Word documents (see Resources below). Besides graphics, Microsoft offers thousands of animations, sound clips and other resources to create Kwanzaa decorations and stationery.

Tips & Warnings

  • If you find a graphic you like but that doesn't have a download option, try right-clicking on it and then selecting "Save As." Keep in mind, though, that some copy written images will not allow this function.
  • If you need high-quality graphics for professional purposes (such as printing official invitations), you can always buy a variety of images at stock-photography websites and similar venues.
  • Keep in mind, though, that professional images can cost quite a penny. Always make sure that you can't find the same thing (or similar) for free before agreeing to pay for them.
  • Read the fine print for the artwork you're downloading. You should be fine as long as you're using it for your own purposes. Some, however, restrict website use or commercial printing, so make sure you check the limitations before using it.
