Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Printer or pen and paper
  • Media playback software
  1. Step 1

Learn the words to "As the Saints Go Marching In," which are as follows: "When the Saints go marchin' in, oh when the Saints go marchin' in. Oh, I want to be in that number, when the Saints go marchin' in. Oh, when the sun begins to shine, oh when the sun begins to shine. Oh, I want to be in that number, when the sun begins to shine!"

  2. Step 2

Prepare a printout of the lyrics so you can sing along. To give yourself a jump-start on memorizing the lyrics, you can also try manually re-typing them into a word processor or copying them out by hand. That forces your brain to process the information an additional time, word by word.

  3. Step 3

Stream the audio of the song as you sing along, or download it to your computer. Downloading is a better choice for users with a slow Internet connection, as streaming audio can sometimes be choppy at slower connection speeds.

  4. Step 4

Learn the song by heart. Follow along to the music with the lyrics until you're confident that you have them memorized. Then, try to sing along with the song without referring to the lyrics. Once you feel that you have mastered the song, try to sing it without any accompaniment.

  5. Step 5

Know that music tablatures are widely available on the Internet. If you're musically inclined and want to create your own rendition of the New Orleans Saints' classic fight song, you can learn to play "When The Saints Go Marching In" and sing your own accompaniment. 911Tabs.com has the song's music tablature in its database (see Resources below).
