Plan an unforgettable family vacation in the southern state of South Carolina. With tons of fun things to see and do, the state offers fun and entertainment for the entire family. Follow the tips below for planning a family vacation in South Carolina.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Step1
Go to Myrtle Beach. A trip here can be a whole vacation in and of itself. The miles and miles of white sanded beach also have over a hundred golf courses, tennis courts, shopping malls, fishing, surfing, boating and much more. Stay in one of the many resorts right on the beach.
Step2
Offer the family a taste of history by visiting Charleston. This piece of the genteel south has hundreds of colonial buildings, antique shopping, old-fashioned cobble streets and the Old City Market. The South Carolina Aquarium is also in Charleston.
Step3
Learn about an important part of southern history by visiting beautiful plantation homes and gardens. Visit the Ashtabula and Woodburn Historic Houses in western South Carolina to see the birthplace of African American activist Jane Edna Hunter. Learn about slavery by seeing original slave cabins at the cotton and rice plantation of Boone Hall.
Step4
See the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountain area. Go horseback riding, hiking on the many trails, or fishing or boating in some of the lakes or blackwater rivers. There are plenty of places to camp along the lakes or along the Atlantic coast.
Step5
Visit Carowinds, Paramount's huge amusement park that sits on the North/South Carolina border near Charlotte. The park has lots of rides and attractions for all ages.
