Being a pool boy is a decent job with reasonable pay. It is a great job for the summer because it helps you stay cool and you will always have plenty of work. It also leaves the rest of the year available if you have other plans or want to go to school. The following steps will help get you started on becoming a pool boy.

1. Check your local newspaper for pool boy positions. Look for titles such as pool cleaner or pool maintenance. The positions usually provide on-the-job training.

2. Go to Craigslist.com and click on the city nearest to you. It is located on the right hand side of your screen. Type in pool in the search engine located on the left hand side of your screen and click on jobs below that.

3. Call the local pool cleaning companies in your phone book. Ask them if they are currently looking for someone to help with their pool cleaning service.

4. Log on to Monster.com or Careerbuilder.com and do a search for pool cleaner positions. Make sure that you choose to search the areas around you if you live in a small town.

5. Canvass neighborhoods going door-to-door asking people if they need their pool cleaned. For a reasonable price a lot of people may let you. If you do a good job word of mouth will really help expand your business. Make fliers to hand out to people.
