Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 2 squares unsweetened chocolate
  • 3 tbls. butter
  • 1 cup light corn syrup
  • 2 tblsp. bourbon
  • 1/2 cup carmel topping
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 3 eggs slightly beaten
  • 3 eggs, lightly beaten
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 cup chopped pecans
  • 1 9-inch pie shell
  • 1/2 cup whipped cream
  1. Step 1

Preheat the oven to 375 degrees.

  2. Step 2

Melt the chocolate and butter over hot water in stackable pans or in a microwave oven. If you microwave the butter and chocolate, cook it in 30-second intervals, stirring the ingredients in between.

  3. Step 3

Combine the corn syrup, bourbon, carmel topping and sugar in a separate pan.

  4. Step 4

Bring the syrup and sugar to a boil over a high heat until the sugar dissolves. Continue to boil the ingredients for 2 minutes.

  5. Step 5

Add the melted chocolate and butter into the boiling mixture. Slowly pour the chocolate in as you stir the mixture in the pan.

  6. Step 6

Pour the eggs in while continuing to stir the mixture. Add the vanilla and the nuts until all of the ingredients are combined.

  7. Step 7

Pour into the unbaked pie shell. Smooth the mixture evenly throughout the shell.

  8. Step 8

Place the chocolate pecan pie in the oven and cook for 45 to 50 minutes. As it bakes, the pie should rise above the crust.

  9. Step 9

Remove the pie from the oven. Allow it to cool and spread whipped cream over the pie before serving.
