How to Bake a Strawberry Pie

Things You'll Need
- 1 9-inch pie shell
- 1 quart strawberries
- 3 1/2 tbls. cornstarch
- 1 cup sugar or sugar substitute
- 2 tbls. lemon juice
- 3/4 cup unsweetened pineapple juice
- 1/2 envelope unflavored, unsweetened gelatin

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.

Cook the pie shell until the edges are golden brown. It usually takes between 20 and 45 minutes.

Cut the strawberries into thin slices.

Mix the cornstarch, sugar and lemon juice in a saucepan. Place the pan over low heat and stir.

Mix in half of the strawberries and all of the pineapple juice.

Continue to stir the mixture constantly over the heat until it becomes thick.

Remove the pan from the heat and allow the mix to cool.

Add the remainder of the strawberries and all of the gelatin.

Pour the mix into the cooked pie shell.

Place the pie in the refrigerator and allow it to set. This normally takes about 2 hours. Remove the pie when set and serve.
