Instructions

    • 1

Fill a small pot (at least 4 quarts) with water and place on the stove over a high flame.

    • 2

Slice hot dogs lengthwise using your knife. Be sure to leave 1 unsliced inch at one end. This will be the head of your hot dog.

    • 3

Create the legs by slicing each "half" of the split hot dog into four pieces. This will give you 8 tentacles.

    • 4

Once the water boils, place the "octopus" hot dog into the pot.

    • 5

Once the tentacles "curl," your hot dog is fully cooked. This usually takes 2 to 3 minutes. Remove and serve hot with your kid's favorite toppings.

Tips & Warnings

  • With supervision (and a dull knife) have kids make their own octopus hot dogs at a party. They'll love eating their own creations.
