1
Remember why your husband has chosen his line of work. Firefighters have a genuine desire to help those in need, at all costs. They have the courage to run into a situation everyone else if running from. It is something for you to be proud of.
-
2
Realize that your husband has been put through intense training to protect his own life and those around him. He will always be smart about what he does and that will keep him as safe as possible.
-
-
3
Join a firefighters' wives support group so that you can share your feelings and fears with others in your position. You can find a support group at members.tripod.com or firefighterwives.com.
-
4
Support your husband. He needs to know that you are there for him in order to be the best he can be at his job. Share your feelings with him but try not to make him feel guilty for what he does.
