1
Choose slanted parking spaces. While it might sound silly, most drivers can judge slanted parking spaces with more accuracy than straight spaces. The angle makes it easier to maneuver a car into and out of the space while avoiding a tight squeeze on one side or the other.

2
Park away from other drivers. If it is a possibility, park in a remote part of a parking lot to avoid dents. While this solution could present issues of inconvenience, it is a perfect opportunity to get a little exercise.

3
Leave distance between yourself and other drivers on the road. One of the most common causes of fender-benders is following too closely. Leave at least the amount of space between your car and the one in front of you that would take two seconds to catch up. Two seconds should allow enough time to react to a car malfunction or potential accident.

4
Avoid tight spaces. Enclosed spaces like parking garages, carports and driveways are often crowded with clutter. Keep your parking space clear of debris to avoid dings or serious dents.

5
Invest in a parking aid. If you have the means, a device to aid the parking process can put an end to worry about backing up, pulling out or parking in a small space. Laser guide devices and in-car cameras designed to help drivers move in reverse can help avoid dents.
