Del Taco is a fast food restaurant with a variety of food items. Many of the combos are loaded with calories, fat and carbohydrates. However, you can eat healthy at this restaurant by following these steps.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Step1
Say no to the fries. A Del Taco meal with a Chicken Soft Taco, Macho Fries and a Macho Sprite has 1434 calories, 58 grams of fat and 227 grams of carbohydrates. Don't eat the fries and you're down to 744 calories, 12 grams of fat and 159 grams of carbohydrates.
Step2
Order a Chicken Soft Taco alone. Without fries or a drink you are down to a meal with 210 calories, 12 grams of fat and 16 grams of carbohydrates. A healthy alternative to the Chicken Soft Taco is a regular Taco. This has 160 calories, 10 grams of fat and 11 grams of carbohydrates.
Step3
Go with a smaller size. Macho fries from Del Taco have 690 calories, 46 grams of fat and 68 grams of carbohydrates. Medium fries have 490 calories, 32 grams of fat and 47 grams of carbohydrates. If you eat the small fries, you are only having 142 calories, 23 grams of fat and 34 carbohydrates.
Step4
Change your usual drink. A medium Coke from Del Taco has 396 calories and 108 grams of carbohydrates. A medium Diet Coke only has 2 calories and no carbohydrates. If you don't like diet drinks, order a medium Minute Maid Light Lemonade. This has 20 calories and 4 grams of carbohydrates. The ultimate healthy drink would be water.
Step5
Forget the double. A Double Del Cheeseburger has 560 calories, 35 grams of fat and 35 grams of carbohydrates. Eat a regular Del Cheeseburger to lower the calories to 430 with 25 grams of fat.
